I commented a few days back that I would watch the President's action going forward. I thought his State of the Union Speech was a good one and set the stage for 2010, as it should. I stated that I would watch three to four things on my quest to see 'action'.

One was the meeting with the GOP House members. I saw action.  Surely he had to know that the House Members would come to him with talking points; so he prepared for such.  He prepared exceedingly well and delivered.

One point that should be noted.  Look at how the 'spider' spins its web.  They attempted to deny his strength by taking away his teleprompters. "make the enemy less comfortable, the enemy is more prone to error". He obviously prepared for that also. He knew their commonly repeated talking points, so he was able to prepare. Preparation and a superior mind creates formidable challenges.  He was up to the task.  Bottom line (Oft replaced with the new vernacular: At the End of the Day), the GOP may not use such a tactic going forward.  Some of them have admitted a mistake in agreeing to the White House request for cameras throughout the event.  They agreed...they lost.  Pls note that FOX NEWs pulled away from the event to showcase well known detractors. (A form of censorship).

While I hate to repeat myself, I have to state that the GOP is a shallow pool.  The President was far too large to swim in that pool.  I strongly believe that the GOP Senators will not put forth such a  request.

A final note to all.  Just saying 'NO' is starting to bother the GOP. They do not want to wear that collar.

    nice to see him...

telling the GOP to take a good look at themselves in the mirror.
It was also good to see him, calling them out on their version of the "facts".
He was not letting them shake their etch- a- sketches, no matter how hard they tried.

Read About It In The Paper

Wish I could have seen it, in full, but alas - no cable.

Apparently FNC viewers didn't get to see the whole thing, either.

    Pity, eh?

    Fox News

by: rezleftMon Feb 01, 2010 at 07:23:22 AM CST

There was a news item on Fox News website about this meeting between the President and House GOP, and a poll that 84% said they wanted the meeting to lead to positive cooperation between the parties (or something like that) with about 240 comments almost all terribly negative....I tried to post a comment saying that Fox News fans are mainly far right Obama haters so I wasn't surprised by the negative comments, and that Independents decide elections and that meeting was what they want to hear.  I tried over and over to post the comment but they would not post it....I checked back a couple of hours later and the entire news item was GONE....couldn't find it anywhere....so much for fair and balanced...we report you decide (I'm puking)
