I got some bad news today. It wasn't completely unexpected. But the confirmation of the situation was...difficult.

I have a bunch of diaries in the pipeline that will just sit there until I figure things out. If you don't use the "draft" feature, you really should. If you don't know how, just ask me and I'll explain it.

Anyway, I'll be around. But probably won't participate as much or as vocally. Don't worry, I'm not gonna die. lol Afterall, doc says no one ever died of this. But I definitely need to figure out from this point on what is what and what I want to do.

Follow the doctors advice. If you are concerned about the advice , seek another opinion. Doctors are learned practitioners but they are not 'guaranteed' fix-it people.

I am not going to be able to deal with 'less FAULT GUY", that is for certain.

Pardu, this was actually confirmation of a diagnosis I received in Dec '06. But I was too stupid back then to believe it.

My doc didn't push any scripts on me, which I appreciate. He gave me the options and left it in my hands to figure out what I want to do. So I respect him for that.

Anyway, as I said, I'll be around. Just not active as usual though. Too much good reading [like spiral's PETA post] to stop coming here altogether. But there's a lot I now need to figure out at this point.

I also know people who have had surgery to remove parts of the Colon. IT WORKS......

For any one else in the LEFTAKE. As you approach 40 to 45 start thinking about a colonoscopy.

Hey, they give you great DRUGs to put you to sleep (I MEAN GREAT) and you have no feelings after wards. Before that age your are a bit young for polyps that have developed over the years. Just know that GEORGE HOWARD, a well known Jazz Saxophonist, died in his early 30's form colon cancer.

There is one major ugly part of the process but I will not share that just now. ONLY IF one is terribely inquisitive.

Although they do drug you into a stupor (which means you may well not even notice) before inflating everything to look in there, be aware that this air will come out again...in the most epic event of flatulence EVER. Use this force for good- perhaps by allowing your sphincter to speak in tongues- it will probably do a grand imitation of Rush Limbaugh.

All silliness aside, this must be a terrifying time for you. I truly hope nothing (except Pat Robertson in fart form) comes of it. Best wishes, man.
