I TOTALLY do that when I'm flying! It's the coolest thing in the whole freakin' world to be able to look down at the ground & know there are little itty-bitty ant-people down there & I'm waaaay up in the sky & it's really-really cool, even without leg room and someone's screaming brats in front of me.

I used to be a customer service rep for a national cell phone company & I always got those jackasses who thought their phone was too slow...really? Self-absorbed, impatient assholes! Now you know why I'm going back to school... ;)

And I'm glad as hell I live in the 21st century. But, like he said, my generation sucks. Although I like to think I'm not one of the shitty ones. I wish I could deny it, say that we don't all suck, we aren't lazy, we aren't spoiled, but, we are. Most of us are completely out of touch with reality, with the world, with just about everything, except our cell phones.

We are lazy and stupid and care nothing for the well-being of others. Unless Paris says we need energy reform - then we're totally on it for like, a minute! Or some actress, singer, or celebutard says "oh look at this cute little child/critter/plant/purse..." and informs us that it is our DUTY to protect and support it. Then we're on it for like a minute and a half, as long as it doesn't interfere with a) the Hills, b) Survivor, c) Dancing with the Stars, or d) our cell phones.

Doesn't it make you proud to be of this "younger generation"? :)

Everybody sucks in their own special ways. ;-> So don't shoulder all the blame to your generation.
Remember who taught and allowed you to be selfish and self-absorbed. Us old farts have blazed a nice wide trail into the land of the self.
People just a few years older than me are still claiming not to remember the 70's.
You both realize you have brains and you know how to use them. That's all good. You'll find a few of your own kind out there. Just by being and staying true to your beliefs you disprove the rule and provide an example to the generations behind you.
Keep voting, keep writing, keep talking... Things will change and you can influence the current of that change. Be involved with your kids, if and when you have them. Teach them what's of value in your life.
Success really isn't such a big thing. It's whatever yer happy with.

stereotyping sucks, too. But then I would have to admit that I do it, and I wouldn't be able to stereotype all of Glenn Beck's followers as crazy, self-righteous, ignorant hypocrites who have NO idea what their real best interests are.

Love this.
Subsistence camping is a real eye opener. Subsistence camping in winter adds a new depth to reality.
And still I am guilty of taking so many things for granted.
